Do I need to bleach my hair to use these shades?

Yes. Our vivid shades require a clean, bleached base for maximum impact. If you're starting with a darker natural color, you'll need to lighten your hair first to ensure the shade develops correctly.

Can I use vivid shades to go pastel?

Absolutely. Since our drops are fully customisable, you can dial the intensity up or down. For a soft pastel finish, use fewer drops in your conditioner.

How long do SHRINE toners & hair dyes last?

The longevity of the colour depends on several factors, including hair type, the number of washes, and how well the hair is prepped before dyeing. On average, the colour lasts for 2-10 washes, depending on the amount of drops used, before fading naturally. The longevity can vary depending on hair type, colour intensity, and hair care routine.

Should I wear gloves?

Definitely yes to avoid having to scrub your hands afterwards! Our Semi-Permanents are saturated colours and so can leave a colour stain on your hands - wear gloves to prevent this from happening. Mix your colour together in your shrine mixing bowl with our eco tint brush and always use gloves.

Should I perform a patch test?

Absolutely. We recommend performing a patch test 24 hours before every application. Since skin sensitivity can change due to hormones, climate, or health, it is vital to test for irritation each time, even if you’re a seasoned pro. Your hair health and skin safety are our top priorities!

How to do a strand test?

We recommend a strand test for every application so that you can ensure your hair will react to the colour correctly and to check that you are happy with the colour results. The condition of your hair and other factors can affect this so you might get different results each time

Will it take to my grey/white hair?

Grey/White hair can vary massively in colour and porosity within each strand. Our Shrine shades work best on bleached hair because it makes the hair more porous and absorbs the colour better than hair that hasn’t been lightened. However, we have had customers who have naturally grey hair, and it has worked for them. We guess it depends on the outcome that you are looking for, how many drops you use but always be prepared in case it doesn’t take to the hair. We always recommend a strand test to see how the colour will turn out on individuals' hair 😊
